Scientific Facts I need to remember to improve!

1. When the angle of incidence = angle of reflection, light is refracted perpendicular to the normal (along the medium surfaces).

2. Diffraction diagrams: gap between waves is same before and after diffraction, lines are curved towards the ends.
3. When drawing TIR, always try to measure accuracy of reflected line with protractor (or be as accurate as possible.

3.12, 3.13 Electromagnetic Spectrum - Uses & Disadvantages

(In order of decreasing wavelength AND increasing frequency)

Radio waves:
       broadcasting and communications
Microwaves:
       cooking and satellite transmissions
// internal body tissue heat (from water inside)
Infrared:
heaters and night vision equipment (detects body heat)
// skin and body tissue burn
Visible light:
       optical fibres and photography
Ultraviolet:
       fluorescent lamps
// skin cancer and eye damage
X-rays:
seeing inside materials and objects, medical (cancer cure)
Gamma rays:
       sterilising (food, and medical equipment)
          // Cancer and mutation
